The Great Annual Tauranga Duck Race

On Sunday 15 April we checked out the great annual duck race in Tauranga, down by the Waterfront at the Strand. This is a family fun charity event organised by Tauranga Te Papa Rotary Club. It was my daughter's first time attending this event and mine too. Luckily the weather was behaving and did not disturb the little duckies vying for the lead position. It definitely was a fun day for all involved. Nothing serious, nothing complicated. Just about 1000+ spectators out on a Sunday morning, watching 5000+ rubber ducks race to the finish. I might add they did need some hurrying along, which the helpful volunteers were happy to assist with in making the event a success!
