Thanks for stopping by.... Congratulations on deciding to pursue your goal to run your own online business! The hard bit is done now, though you may be feeling a whole host of emotions like excited,  daunted, nervous and unsure..to name a few.

As a mum of a young baby, I still wanted to be able to do something from home that could generate a decent income. I knew it had to be an online business. I had no clue where to begin, what to sell or what service to offer or how to set up a website.

After giving it some thought, I decided on selling good quality pre-loved baby items. I felt there was a pretty good market for that at the time. I sourced the products I wanted to sell and then came the part of setting up my website...EEEK!

Suffice to say, after quite a bit of trial and error - and tears , I finally got my website up and running. I had to change web platforms as after uploading my products, I found out the particular web platform I had opted to use, did not quite have the functions I required like wanting to sell 'one-off' products. As selling pre-loved items, there would only ever be one of that particular item! I was in tears, and had to do more research to find a suitable host and then redo my website again! I was quite happy with my finished product then. That was about 6 years ago!

 

Out of my experience, I wondered if other mums had experienced similar situations / hurdles in trying to set up their online business. I just knew that this was something I wanted to help other mums with and they could focus on the more important work of being a parent and enjoy the process of setting up their own business and not be stressed or discouraged by it. I learnt as much as I could and did a few courses to assist me along the way. The learning never ends as technology is always changing. It definitely pays to enlist one or two business mentors to help guide you along the way or keep researching what is currently trending.
